I'm unable to access phpMyAdmin. It asks for a username and password, then it returns a blank page.

If you are required to re-enter the username and password when trying to access phpMyAdmin from cPanel, it could mean that the MySQL password is out of sync.

To fix this issue, please reset your cPanel password by following these steps:

  1. Login to cPanel
  2. Go to Preferences » Change Password
  3. Enter an alphanumeric password, without special characters and with a length of 12 to 18 characters.
  4. Enable the option "Synchronize MySQL password"

To set a more secure cPanel password that is longer and contains special characters, you should repeat the above steps, but make sure that the option "Synchronize MySQL password" is disabled. This way the password will change for all services, except for MySQL and phpMyAdmin.

This is a common issue that can suddenly happen from time to time when your password is long and contains special characters. Using a strong password is definitely not a bad thing and we strongly encourage this security practice, but unfortunately, MySQL has some compatibility issues with complex passwords.
